There is also a chance that she is suffering from some kind of personality disorder which can go farther than bipolar in explaining the pathological lying and other kinds of behavior, but that's really for the experts to sort out. There are certain healthy habits that help right like exercise, routine, diet, cbt, and if you got into those things maybe that would be a good influence. That's the best I got buddy and I hope it does something. I have a lot of books but sometimes time and love is the most important factor too, I don't know. <3

My first advice is to be cautious of any advice you get from people who are bipolar or are the significant others, what works for them is something else, and often it's not the best of all worlds. That said my second advise as a bipolar person who has dated someone who is bipolar, I'll put in the daily work if you put in the daily work on yourself, the outcome at the end of the day is less important than doing the mental and physical exercise each day, that's a sustainable pattern. Taking meds, physical exercise and mental work such as CBT +mindfulness, every day will help keep the doctor away, and if you are not willing to suffer through that, and you're convinced laying in bed and distracting yourself is therapy or avoiding something bad, it's a matter of a serious intervention or bust.

I wish you the best best of luck

By all means take notes! I'm glad I can help :)

This book might also be helpful for you. My husband read it and said it matched a lot of what he's learned in our 16 years together.

If you’re both serious about making this relationship work you should buy him this book and tell him you want to work through it together: https://www.amazon.com/Loving-Someone-Bipolar-Disorder-Understanding/dp/1608822192
