Such a brave comment for a sub that likes to blame Maynard for all of tools problems. Unfortunately until they're super old and grey we won't get something like this to know all the deets but I suspect Massey gave them a lot more direction than we know seeing it was their first time in the studio and Botrill isn't no slouch either with his little seg jingle for Jimmy. I feel like tool would benefit from a producer and possibly be more productive when an outside ear can contribute to the flow. While it's cool that Adam is a perfectionist I hope that with all the time that has passed between albums he was able to recognize 10k days shortcomings in comparison to Aenima and Lateralus (hell even Undertow) with the way they were more cohesive albums overall.
