I'd suggest you to check a book "A Mind For Numbers" [1]. You don't have to be science/math guy to read it, and it covers procrastination among other things.

What I like about it is that many facts are backed by science research.

That course is also one of the highest rated and most recommended MOOCs for the past 4 or 5 years now. The course had a similar effect on me after going through it years ago.

There is also the book version of the course, it provides more contextual examples for why the techniques work and who it's worked for (current students and noteworthy historical figures). The course does a good job on its own.

If you're REALLY strapped for time, there is also a Google talk given by the lecturer, you will be getting a diluted version of the course but it's better than nothing.

Take a look at this book A Mind for Numbers: How to Excel at Math and Science

Also take a look at the companion course which can be taken for free on Coursera: Learning How to Learn

Both are geared towards adults who want to learn STEM topics but don't feel they are good at them.

Any books or other resources you recommend to learn these things? On learning to learn I have enjoyed A Mind for Numbers[1] by Barbra Oakley with Coursera course[2], Make it Stick[3] by Peter C. Brown, and How We Learn[4] by Benedict Carey.

Can highly recommend the book the Coursera course is based on [1]: A mind for numbers [2]. Have read it multiple times back to from and front to back.
