Author: AutoModerator Body: WE NEED YOUR HELP, FUCKTHEALTRIGHT USERS! This is one of the few subreddits where the alt-right (i.e., neo-Nazis) and the groups that support and enable them are not given a voice (See Rule 1). We are here to condemn and mock them, not to dignify and legitimize their toxic nonsense with Reddit-brand Valuable Discussion. In order to maintain this Nazi-free space, the moderator team needs our users to report Nazis and trolls so that we can remove them at first opportunity. You can still abuse them when you see them, but remember our motto is Report, THEN Retort. Thank you, and FUCK THE ALT-RIGHT! *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Author: DrunkInRlyeh Body: Bad-faith arguments really boil my bollocks.
Author: Zombinxy Body: Like Sean Hannity saying... Well, pretty much anything. He's a walking representation of cognitive dissonance. If you've never read about Al Franken's first encounter with Shammity, I urge everyone check it out.
Author: RaisedByACupOfCoffee Body: I Googled around for a bit and couldn't find it. It sounds interesting, can you help?
Author: SylasTheShadow Body: [https://www.amazon.com/Lies-Lying-Liars-Balanced-Right/dp/0452285216](https://www.amazon.com/Lies-Lying-Liars-Balanced-Right/dp/0452285216) Looks like you didn't google hard enough lol.
Author: DrunkInRlyeh Body: I have a friend named Sean and I feel really bad for him that he has to share a name with that festering shit-berg
Author: King_Of_The_Cold Body: My dads name is Sean lol. "Sean hannity" is one name to me
Author: Khalbrae Body: Imagine all the people you know named Donald. I feel sorry for Donald Glover and Donald Tusk having to share a name with a certain stable genius nobody.
Author: DrunkInRlyeh Body: I'm sure I have no idea to whom you refer.
Author: Morella_xx Body: Donald Duck, obviously.
Author: Eddy120876 Body: This looks like a picture of Sean growing up LoL
Author: FuckHumans_WriteCode Body: American Dad summed it up well. Two white cis-het dudes complaining about how they only have most of the power instead of all of it
Author: stixvoll Body: I still use that quote occasionally, even though Seth McFarlane toons are edgy teen bs, by and large. I did think a Million Ways To Die In The West was actually pretty funny, though
Author: HearshotAtomDisaster Body: American Dad exists almost completely separate to the rest of the McFarlanevaerse. As someone who can go either way on most of his stuff, AD is fucking hilarious. It's written differently, the source of jokes are different, it has the least amount of Seth involved in the making, it has Avery fucking Bullock. I for sure wouldn't throw AD in the same lane of "edgy teen bs", just because McFarlane produces it.
Author: stixvoll Body: Okay, good point, well put. Yeah, on reflection a lot of the humour of AD comes from the incompetence/corruption of the CIA...so, yeah, I agree. Family Guy, though, that's a different matter.
Author: HearshotAtomDisaster Body: The source of the jokes come from all places, but usually revolve around two cornerstones of the show: Stan and his incompetent conservative beliefs, and Roger the addict.
Author: Topenoroki Body: My parents are staunch conservatives, like my dad would get vocally very angry every time he saw Obama or Hillary and yet somehow they fucking adore American Dad despite the show constantly making fun of them, it's very bizarre considering they can't stand anything left of Trump.
Author: elrayo Body: “wow he’s just like me”
Author: Topenoroki Body: Yeah basically.
Author: exbaddeathgod Body: Well FG and the CS are old McFarlane edgy crap, AD and his live action show (forgetting the name right now...) are his non edgy comedy and pretty good
Author: CarrowCanary Body: The Orville? It's arguably a better Star Trek show than most of the recent actual Star Trek is.
Author: Nightslash360 Body: The Orville is freaking amazing.
Author: Trillian258 Body: This makes me sad but its true. Its true.
Author: None Body: [removed]
Author: FuckHumans_WriteCode Body: The latest group of freshman congresspeople set a historical record for ethnic diversity. Sounds great, but that record is still 12% of Congress. In 2017, the average U.S. family made $75,938 per year. There's a wide divide, though, as the average African-American household made $50,870 that year whereas the average Caucasian family made $92,784¹. Not to mention the education divide, arguably the most damaging. Back when it was still legal to have explicitly "white" neighborhoods and explicitly "black" neighborhoods, all the funding went to white neighborhoods, and thus the only way to get into a good school was to live in a white district. When our government repealed that practice, they did nothing to even the playing field, so generations afterward, the historically disadvantaged families are having to fight harder for what they earn. ¹ https://www.statista.com/statistics/214869/share-of-active-duty-enlisted-women-and-men-in-the-us-military/

Author: Feadric Body: > You know, simply dismissing someone whose opinion differs from yours rather than engaging in debate is exactly the sort of behaviour hat gives rise to far-right/ far-left ideologies that make today’s political climate as toxic as it is. This approach wastes many opportunities that could be used to make people more understanding of each others’ positions and reach productive solutions to the problems that we all face. And there we go. Setting up a moral equivalency between Nazis and the left, pretending that the problem with our politics is that we're not tolerant of Nazis instead of the fact that we have Nazis in our political discourse, appeals to "muh democratic norms" and pretending that people are "forced" to become Nazis because of those meany lefties. Fuck off to /td shitheel.
Author: FickleTechnology Body: Remember, this isn't "Debate Alt-Right."
Author: FuckHumans_WriteCode Body: It seems like you're saying those are 2017's problems, not our current ones, but I would argue that problems require serious, long-term work, and given the attitudes of those in office as well as the voters who put them there, I see no evidence that such effort has broken enough ground to change anything substantially. P.S. I'm pretty slow to anger with disagreements like this because I used to be a total "white men are oppressed now" douche when I was younger, and I'm still pretty young at 21, so I remember thinking I was justified and why.

>August 7, 2003. Fox News Channel, the plaintiff, sought to enjoin Al Franken from using Fox's trademark phrase "fair & balanced" in the title of his then-forthcoming book, Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them: A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right.[1] Judge Denny Chin denied Fox's motion for injunction on August 22, and the network dropped the suit three days later.
